Not in Our Town announced today that Gov. Steve Bullock and four Montana city mayors will join the community, law enforcement, business, faith, education, arts, labor, and youth leaders at the National Leadership Gathering in Billings June 20-22.
Gov. Bullock and the Not in Our Town community will be joined by Bozeman Mayor Jeff Krauss, Missoula Mayor John Engen, Helena Mayor Jim Smith, and Billings Mayor Tom Hanel.
Coming from 21 states, attendees include hate crime investigators, school principals, religious leaders, health care providers, school nurses, organizers, newspaper editors, and campus leaders from high school and college.
“Communities and schools across the country want to be safe and inclusive places,” said Not In Our Town Executive Producer Patrice O’Neill. “This Gathering is going to connect people and give them the tools to make that happen in their towns.”
The Gathering will feature a daylong pre-conference on Not in Our School programs for educators as well as strategies from NIOT’s ongoing programs with the U.S. Department of Justice Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Office.
