A diary of NIOT board member Frank Duke's journey to deliver soil from the place where John Henry James, a Charlottesville resident who was murdered by lynching 120 years ago to Montgomery, Alabama, where the Equal Justice Initiative collects jars of dirt from 4,400 documented lynchings, mostly in the South. Sad news out of Marshalltown, IA, today after a tornado hit the town on Thursday. Miraculously, no one was hurt, but the downtown area was "devastated" after what was described as a "catastrophic tornado."
