As the end of 2020 is on the horizon, we join you in breathing a sigh of relief, with the full knowledge that our work together is needed more than ever.
This year, standing up became personal for so many of us as we faced the incredible loss of lives and livelihoods from the global pandemic, the awakening and protests against systemic racism that emerged after George Floyd’s murder, the rise in anti-Asian hate and anti-Semitism, the escalating threat and actions of racist and anti-government extremists, and a deeply divided election ending with the largest participation in the history of our country.
Thank you so much for your generous donations and for being a part of this movement to stop hate and build safe, inclusive communities. Because of you, NIOT was able to provide support to people in over 200 communities across the country. The actions of activists in the Not In Our Town movement have inspired and motivated us to do more in this perilous time.

We Need Local Action to Stop Hate More Than Ever
For 25 years, Not In Our Town has been preparing for this moment by creating films that move people to action, gathering and spreading knowledge about effective responses to hate, providing teachers with resources to counter hate and bigotry at school, working with law enforcement to bridge the divide in communities and prevent hate crimes, and collaborating with leaders and partners to make lasting change with measurable impact.
HERE we are. The FBI reported 51 hate crime killings in 2019, a staggering 113% increase from 2018. The election may be over, but the long-term fight against hate continues. There is so much to do, and Not In Our Town resources are in great demand. Our current funding does not match the profound mission of our movement and our organization.
Will you be part of the change for our next two decades of action, and help Not In Our Town launch a campaign for change in the coming year?
You can start right now by donating to Not In Our Town here.
Thank you in advance for your courage and support!
With Gratitude,
