This week, the family members of shooting victims in Buffalo and Uvalde are testifying on the need for gun control. On Tuesday, the son of Ruth Whitfield, an 86-year-old woman who was killed in Buffalo, spoke to senators about his mother and issued a challenge to Congress Tuesday to act against white supremacy, domestic terrorism and the nation’s epidemic of gun violence.
"Is there nothing that you personally are willing to do to stop the cancer of white supremacy and the domestic terrorism it inspires?" he said. "Because if there is nothing, then...you should yield your positions."
